These terms of business are to protect and clarify the legal rights of our customers as well as the company.

Definitions

This website, found under www.sophiafrances.com, is operated by Sophia Frances and references to “we,'' “us”, “our” and “the company” shall be deemed to be referenced to the Sophia Frances Studio. References to “you”, “your” “customer” and “client” shall be deemed to be referenced to the person or company placing an order.

Please read through these terms and conditions carefully before placing your order. By using this website and/or placing an order with Sophia Frances, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set out below. Please also read our Privacy Policy regarding the personal information you provide. We may occasionally change these terms without notice and these changes will apply to any subsequent orders received. If your order has already entered our dispatching process, such changes will not be applied.

Handmade products

Sophia Frances cushions and lampshades are made by hand and small imperfections, differences in shape, colour and size can sometimes occur. All cushions are finished by hand so they may vary slightly in size by +/-2cm, while each lampshade is individually handmade to order so the exact positioning of the pattern may differ from the photographs on our website.

Our printed fabrics are made from natural fibres and will sometimes have natural characteristics such as slubs and other irregularities in the yarns, these too are not considered faults.

These variations are just a part of the nature of handmade and natural products. Such variants will never affect the overall aesthetic of our products or negatively impact their intended use. Fabric Orders

All Sophia Frances collections are designed in-house by Sophia Frances and are manufactured and printed in the United Kingdom. This is to directly support British craftsmanship and to keep our carbon footprint small. We only use high quality natural linens, cottons and velvets, in various weights, that are the most suitable for soft furnishings, drapes, and upholstery. Silks and other fabrics are available on a bespoke basis.

When ordering please allow a +/- 10% tolerance on all pattern repeats and widths given. Please note that while the colour reproduction in our photography is a close representation, fabric colours are a guide only and may vary from the images shown online. This is due to slight changes in colour on different desktops and screens, so we always recommend ordering a sample prior to placing fabric orders. Samples of all our fabrics are available for purchase in our online shop. Samples are generally between A6 to A5 in size. Free samples are available to trade only.

It is the customers or their agent’s responsibility to check that they have received the correct order before altering the product or handing it to any third party for processing, any faults need to be reported to sophiafrances within 72 hours of receiving the order. Once fabric is cut or handed onto a third party we cannot accept responsibility for any errors which occasionally do occur.

Please note that cut fabric, fabric sample are non- returnable.

Please note that all Sophia Frances fabrics are approved as suitable for commercial use and have been tested under the Martindale method, with abrasion between 40,000 to 100,000 cycles. To find out more about this test, please contact us at info@sophiafrances.com.

The ordering process

All orders are to be made online via our online payment system. Once confirmed we will then send out your order. We are currently unable to supply any goods on a sale or return basis and all orders are accepted on receipt of full payment through our online payment system. We accept all major cards including Visa and MasterCard and all items are subject to availability. We will inform you as soon as possible if the goods you have ordered are not available.

We print our fabrics to order. Your order will be made after we receive payment. Please allow 5-7 weeks for your fabric delivery. Your fabric is printed to order this is to tackle waste and unused stock. We like to know that 100% of our products are being used and our production processes reflect a zero waste ethos.

Cancelling your order

For bespoke products, cancellation is not possible if the product has already gone into production. All cancellations should be made in writing via email to info@sophiafrances.com.

Returns

Returns cannot be accepted. All faults or damage must be reported within 72 hours of receipt of delivery. Unauthorised returns will not be credited to the customer’s account.

Information for overseas customers

The price charged to overseas customers will be subject to the exchange rate applied by the customer's credit or debit card company. Customers outside the United Kingdom will also be liable for any import duty, quotas, permits, product restrictions and other local requirements. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that all international orders have the correct paperwork and that local requirements are met, prior to order. Accuracy of content

Every care has been taken in the preparation of the content of this website, in particular to ensure that the details, descriptions and prices are correct at the time of publishing. The total cost of your order will be set out in the payment system on this website prior to your order being placed.

Shipping and delivery charges

All orders of fabric samples and accessories, made within the UK Mainland, will be shipped First Class Signed For via the National Postal Service. This shipping is free of charge to the customer. Larger orders including rolls of fabric will be shipped via DHL courier. This shipping method is also free of charge to the customer. If you would like to select your own shipping method, please contact us prior to placing your order via email at info@sophiafrances.com. Any additional costs will be the responsibility of the customer. Orders will not be shipped using alternative methods without written confirmation and agreement from both parties. All shipments must be signed for upon delivery.

For international shipments, please contact us prior to placing your order at info@sophiafrances.com. As previously stated, customers outside the United Kingdom will be liable for any import duty, quotas, permits, product restrictions and other local requirements. If you would like us to calculate international shipping charges for you prior to ordering, then please contact us at info@sophiafrances.com.

Complaints

Please note, any damages to your order must be notified to us within 72 hours of receipt of delivery via email. If you would like to return your order, items must be returned unused in their original packaging. Any bespoke, seconds or cut lengths of fabric are non-refundable or returnable. Contract

When buying through the website the contract entered into is legally binding.

Ownership of content

All rights, including copyright, in this website are owned by Sophia Frances Studio. Any use of this website or its contents, including copying or storing of information in whole or part, other than for your own personal, non-commercial use is prohibited without our permission. You may not modify, delete, distribute or post anything on this website for any purpose.

Your statutory rights are not affected by any of the above terms and conditions.
